Every gate we build is planned around the specific opening, swing direction, post condition, and hardware needs. Gates are not one-size-fits-all — the right gate for a side-yard privacy fence is a different project than a driveway gate or a security-style entry gate.

Pedestrian, Entry & Access Gates
Pedestrian, entry, and access gates are important for multifamily properties, shared access points, and higher-traffic walk-through areas where security, durability, and hardware selection matter. Wood entry gates are still a common option for residential side yards and rear yards, while ornamental steel pedestrian gates are a strong choice for controlled-access or visually distinct entry points.
For properties with frequent in-and-out traffic, stronger hinges, durable latch hardware, keyed entry, mechanical keypad access, padlock-ready hardware, and other controlled-access options may be considered depending on the opening and use of the space.
When ADA requirements apply to the property, we can provide a shop drawing after job acceptance and before fabrication to help confirm gate layout, swing, and hardware selection.

Before we start, we plan around the actual opening width, the swing direction, how the gate will clear the ground, what hardware is appropriate, and whether the existing posts are solid enough to carry the load. If posts need to be reset or replaced, we handle that too.

Yes. Wood gates are the most common option we build for residential properties. We build side-yard gates, privacy gates, entry gates, and fence-matching replacement gates in both single and double configurations.
Are steel-framed gates better than wood gates?
It depends on the project. For most standard residential side-yard or privacy gates, a properly built wood gate works well. For wider openings, heavier daily use, driveway applications, or homeowners who want the longest-lasting option, steel-framed gates are typically the better choice. Do you build gates by hand?
Yes. Every gate is built by hand in our shop, made specifically for the homeowner and the opening. We don’t use prefab or off-the-shelf gate products.
Can you match my existing fence style?
In most cases, yes. If you’re replacing an existing gate or adding a gate to an existing fence line, we build to match the style, wood species, and picket layout as closely as possible.
Do you replace gate posts and hardware?
Yes. If the existing posts are rotten, undersized, or out of alignment, we replace them as part of the gate project. Hardware is included with every gate and selected for the specific use case.
Do you offer keypad or keyed entry options?
Yes. We offer keyed lock hardware, mechanical keypad entry options, and padlock-ready locking hardware depending on the project. Lockable-by-padlock hardware is the most common upgrade for side-yard and privacy gates.
